Warren's honor is really our honor... (4/9/2008) Warren's award for community service through the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce took place this morning (the 9th of April). Warren is more than honored to receive this prestigious award and join the company in the likes of Earl Cruzen, last year's award winner. Although we are not a news site, and don't pretend to be one, we felt this was worth mentioning on our home page. As with any recipient of the community service award, the true recipient of this type of service is not the award winner, but rather the community they serve. We are truly honored to have warren as part of our community and as an inspiration for generations to come.

Mayor Nickels will present Warren with this award at the Chamber’s Annual Award Breakfast on April 9th, 7:30am, Salty’s on Alki. Tickets are available through the West Seattle Chamber office at (206) 932-5685.

Slight outtage last night... (4/10/2008) We had a slight outtage last night, but in a good way. We had to cutover the old database server to our new one that is about 16 times more powerful, and more reliable. Hardware managed.
Site Calendars Updated and Ready for You to Enter Events! (3/25/2008)
We admit the old calendars left a few things to be desired. Not the least of which is the fact that they didn't always display the events correctly on the dates needed. They also seemed cluttered. So...we took the initiative to make it better for everyone... We have completely redesigned the system to make it faster, more reliable and in the best way, better looking! The recurring events are easier to see. Color coding can be applied to your events, and on top of that you can override recurring events (ie, event happens every monday, except one on the date we're overriding.) Take a look, and try it out. Entry of events is free for registered users. We're working on adding the calendar functionality to the newly developed Family Home Pages which are under wraps in beta.

GAMES! The new and improved word searches are here, and online. Make sure the latest JAVA engine is installed (www.java.com) and then click on the game you would like to play. We have arcade games, and for those of us with more time, a great little word search. Try it out.
